The National Archives of Singapore (NAS) was first known as the National Archives and Records Centre (NARC). In 1979, the National Archives was renamed the National Archives and Oral History Department. NAS is an institution under the National Heritage Board, which was instituted in 1993.

They have many collective memory of our nation. It is a place where most Singaporeans can go to understand the different culture and explore the history on who are we and how did we become a nation.

The National Archives of Singapore has provide many different kinds of services such as record management and preservation whereby their records are scan and output on microfilms as they last longer than other medium. They also have the Archives Conservation Services whereby they provide professional conservation services for paper records such as anoxic treatment, deacidification, leafcasting, mechanical cleaning, manual repair, tissue mounting, encapsulation and book binding using archival method.
